Default Anyway to disable Trunk Ajar Sensor

I am experiencing a condition where the courtesy lights remain on during driving condition and turn off about 10 minutes once the ignition switch is off.

In reading all the threads - I was able to run the MALL test and during the testing of the I/O conditions of the various components - the Trunk release switch on the door handle did not produce a "Bong" condition. I would assume that this did not pass the I/O test.

I check the parts related to the trunk latch and assemble and do not see anything abnormal.

For now I have pulled fuze 6A. Any idea what else maybe causing this??

BTW: i also check the ground bus at both passenger and driver location and were clean...

Cheers,

The trunk is part of the test?

IIRC the trunk shouldn't illuminate the interior lights. Usually you find that the drivers handle switch is bad by holding the door shut while lifting the handle. Or hearing the double bong as you open the door. Once for the handle and once for opening the door.

I check all doors and there responding with a Bong. In another thread, they say that the trunk release button located on the driver door is part of the test and should hear a bong during the I/O sequence test.

I questioning this test were there is no Bong went enabling the trunk release button.

Any idea where else to look for. Can i shorten the trunk latch or other component to determine if the sensor device on the trunk for keyless entry is bad before replacing it??

The trunk sensor TMK is only used for the theft deterrant/security system. I'll try and take a look at the FSM for the trunk being part of the bong test...but I've gone through it recently and didn't test the trunk.

The trunk sensor is a mercury type switch. Nothing is pressed, it is all relational to the position of the trunk up or down only.
