I hope someone can help with my blower problem.

I enjoy working on my vehicles, but my mechanic skills/knowledge needs improvement. I pride myself in doing things on my own, so I try to stay away from the mechanic shops if possible. No offense to those mechanics out there, I just feel that there is some joy in knowing how your vehicle works. Anyways let me get off my soap box and get to the question.

I have barely any air coming out of my vents. I can turn the control from low to high no change. My A/C works great as I can feel the cold air slowly seeping through. so in my opinion the blower motor has gone out and its time to replace. Correct?

Now the stupid question, wheres the blower motor at? I original thought it was in the dash so I started disassembling but that soon proved to be a task. Before I go farther in my expedition can someone set me in the right direction?

I can't say for sure on your year, not my strong area. But I believe it's on the fire wall under the dash. Before you go to that point check your EVAP, as they get old they plug up. Not sure how much this will apply to your year.

Depending on the car it "should" be right behind the engine on the fire wall u'll see the back of the motor (its black and like 2" round) unbolt it and pour some engine motor oil inside the fans motor and and spin the fan by hand (working the oil into the motor) then bolt it back up.

If you're lucky you could get another year or two of life out of it!

ok i created my signature so now you know what year and model. It is a 89 LE, would that be in the engine compartment or in the interior behind the dash?

Engine compatment. Is the fan workig at all ? There are 2 relays behind the glove box that operate the fan. At least on my 88 and Regal , should be the same Check those first. Relays and blower are very easy to change. Use dielctric grease on all connections.

well found the location and replaced the motor $19 at Oreilly's.

$19 is way cheep. Glad to hear you got it fixed, Ever wonder how much it would have cost at a shop ?

Nothing like the feeling of fixing it yourself for a fraction of the cost of having it done.
